birds of a feather

As much as I don't like to dilute what I put on or say on my blog, as it is my space, I feel that the cut file says pretty much what needs to be said. There used to be 5 for coffee, but now there's us four. I've photographed the LO to leave out the journalling on purpose.

'nuff said.

believe in the magic

#scrapshack2016 is about getting the mojo on, and it's certainly done that. All of us have been scrapping away since in our homes, working it around busy work lives, family and commitments, which is just wonderful.

I've definitely noticed a shift in my layouts to more creative backgrounds. The first thing I reach for now are paints, gesso and mists.

I'm just in LURVE with this one.

love

Following along Wilna Furstenburg's 16 Ways to Love.....

Seriously, what's not to love with Wilna. Ribbon flower, sequins, foliage all added extras.

xox

LO #7 from #scrapshack2016
Loosely based on Wilna's Furtensberg's LO in her 16 Ways to Love set of images.
That gold glitter was everywhere over that weekend.

i still fall for you every day.

Layout #6 from #scrapshack2016.
Lots of Wilna Furstenberg influence on this one. My sentiment is on the tag next to the photo.

happy

Lots of gold touches sneaking their way into my LO's lately. I used to think gold was tacky and rather tasteless, but now clearly my view on that has changed. :)

delight

The kids and I had so much fun hamming it up for the camera. We really should do this more often. The camera was on the tripod and the kids had the remote trigger to take the shots. Letting them take control was so liberating. And I had no idea of what shots we had in the can until I looked at them later. That was the best part. So many unexpectedly awesome ones. And not one of them stiff and posed. Brilliant.

the collective

The overall #scrapshack2015 collective effort from me was 14 layouts. I think between the 6 of us approx 80 layouts were completed. That's a hugely creative weekend well spent with like minded souls who enjoy music, cocktails, laughing till your belly hurts and time away from home. Lets do it again!

***edited to add ***
I've removed this image that had 14 LO's on display on the staircase as a number of them have been selected for publication.

shine!

LO no 2 from #scrapshack2016
Lots of deliciousness in this LO.  Gold cut files, gold ribbon, oversized gold paperclip and typing directly onto the photo. Not to mention the sexy paint splats on the black chalkboard paint background.

just be yourself

A wonderful, close to my heart, scrappy friend and myself came up with an idea last year to create an extra scrappy weekend away for ourselves. We invited a friend or two and we had a cracker weekend with the birth of #scrapshack2015. Last weekend we had #scrapshack2016, a four day long weekend of belly laughs, music, scrapbooking, cocktails, connections, friendship and creativity. And a much needed switch off from the every day life back home.

We all hit the scrap table running with LO's coming thick and fast. It was wonderful to see an idea really blossom into something that really soothed our creative need.

Overall I had 15 LO's completed which I am really thrilled with. I think we all achieved a PB in completed pages.

LO 1.   Just be Yourself.
This is one of my favourites because of the sentiment.
